I just got my reciept notice today in the mail. I'm kind of confused as to what the dates mean. Both my employment authorization and adjustmant of status (I-485 family) have no priority dates on them. They do have a processing date of October 24th. What does that mean? Now what comes after this (interview, how long). And how long does it take for the emplyment to get processed. By the way this is all in nebraska. Also my mom is applying through my step dad for permanent residency. Do we each go to seprate interviews? Or is it a combined interview of My step-dad, mom and I?

Thanks

Felipe

priority date is always current for immediate relatives of a USC. Thats why it remains blank on your NOA.

As far as EAD is concerned, it should be approved within 30-90 days. You can follow the EAD timeline to see how others are doing. The procedures are changing a bit, so you might get frustrated waiting for your FP appt letter to show up.

It might be a separate interview for each of you. The interview letter would let you know how to proceed. You can additionally write/call the DO to request to have your interview at the same time.

So by current you mean October 24th?

Current means a visa number is immediately available for the immediate relative of a USC once the application is reached. If oct 24 is your ND, then that would be considered as your PD and it would be current.

October 24th is the date that your information get inside the USCIS system. Meaning that in your process is your Day 1.
ND : notice date. (information in USCIS system)
PD: Priority date. (for immediate relative of USC is equal to ND, for permanent resident applying for family members is another date).
As Ari4u told you, you will have to be patient, the process has changed. Before you get your authorization to work you need to get fingerprinted, for that they will send you another letter for your appointment. (that can take time!)
For interview and all that you can check out at www.uscis.gov for the time at your district office (DO) in Nebraska.
Good luck,
