She has appologised right away and described it as a lame attempt at humor.
Think this is definitely a closed issue.
BTW, did he actually work in St. Louis or she was just refering to Indians as ones who work at gas stations.

Gandhi never worked in any gas station, she was referring to Indians who work at gas stations. Mrs Clinton, wake up, South Asians are not just running the gas stations, motels, they are also running the high tech industries. Lame joke!!
 
Lighten up!

Lighten up guys. Read the article and have a little sense of humor. You will see the funny side of her remarks.

She used a good quote from Mahatma Gandhi and while introducing the quote she must have remarked something like Gandhi is the guy who runs the gas station down the road!

While I agree that it could be (is being?) seen as insensitive but it is funny too. I am sure she didn't mean it in any offensive way.
 
How would Mrs. Clinton know that a lot Indians are holding important jobs int he hitech industry ??

Poor lady doesnt even know where her hubby is partying (and with whom ssshhh!!!!)
 
Running a gas station isnt exactly bad business

Mr Gandhi would never run a gas station if it werent profitable!! Its positive stereotyping. As an indian, i wasnt offended at all!!

But it definitely was a lame joke
