I have been following this forum for a long time. I understand that most(99.999%) get approved after I140 is approved. Congress had made enough laws so that one can never be turned down GC unless one is really criminal or something. Yet, I see INS stats that only 25-30% GC are approved in employment category. I have not seen anyone on this forum reporting that he is turned down 485 AND GOING BACK. Is this forum postings a right indication that most get GC once I140 is approved rest all is a saga of torture by INS and a game in which lawyers make money at the expense of poor applicants who are willing to put up with all this.

Am i right or really many applicants are turned down even after I40 is approved?

I'm afraid u r wrong. check many forums where people have got NOID[Notice of Intent to Deny]. Some of them have appealed after NOID and have got their GC's but some of them are not that lucky.

High approval

I see there are many intent to denials but most get eventual approval after paper trails and delays - that is what adds upto attorney cost or personal agony but if one is ready to put up I do not see a any large number of final
denials but INS stats show 25-30 approval only. So whats wrong in my logic?

Does that mean that if we are in status and have no criminal history the risk factors of I-485 getting denied are minimal, or is it that there could be million other reasons and they come into light.

Thanks UnitedNations for sharing the information. I am a new member to this forum so was trying to understand and educate myself of all the possibilities.

Really this is 485 rejection rate I saw sometime back at INS site for last FY. So there is a difference, most on this forum feel chances are 99% if one is in not a criminal to get GC provided, 140 is approved and there is a piece of paper to backup employment in future.

If you have been in status, no criminal record, no major medical issues and have a permanent job offer then you are fine.
what is above are good and somebody dosent have a job anymore? if such a person gets RFE for EVL and cannot get a job during the RFE reponse time period will his/her 485 be denied?

Get a piece of paper as my email says ... alll that is needed. Do INS even care if it is genuine???? Really not it is a paper crunching machine. Really seeing the high approval rate I will say that, all they do is validate thru paper trail.
