Hi what's the diffe.. between Welcome Notice & Approval Notice

Hi friends

Please if any one knows about this... Is it same between Welcome Notice or Approval Notice..

could u tell me what is the difference between that..

I'm not 100% positive, but now I believe they are the same.

My spouse was approved recently, and got two separate emails on different days (about a week in-between), one about Welcome Notice Sent and the other about Approval Notice Sent. So we thought we would receive two different notices. All we got, however, was Welcome Notice only.

But if you see this USCIS page, it sounds to me Welcome Notice is indeed Approval Notice. Indeed, Welcome Notice says something to the effect that the notice was to notify the case was approved.

When I was approved early this year, I got Approval Notice only. So my guess is they may have changed notice names sometime during the last half year (and due to some system bug and the like, the "Approval Notice Sent" email is still being sent).

I also got the card and the Welcome Notice so far though I received emails to the effect I will be receiving two notices - one welcome and the other approval. Anyways, I am not going to be too worried on this. I got my "nirvana" when I saw the card in hand. Someone reported earlier that (s)he received two notices and the card. HTH

May be (Approval notice) goes to the lawyer... and welcome letter and GC goes to the applicant? Gurus?

I anticipate my notice/GC mail next week.
 
That's possible... the person anandkan mentioned actually may have represented him/herself without using an attorney.

We could call CIS to make sure, but I'm not really worried about this... since all the CIS site mentions for approved applicants are the card and Welcome Notice.

My understanding is GC approver receives either one of the notices. Take my example, I got welcome notice and physical card and my son received approval notice but still waiting for physical card. To further confuse both of our online status say "Approval notice sent".

Now bottom line if one receive "Welcome Notice" or "Approval Notice" and Physical card, then that is the end of story, I got this confirmed by rep.
