I have started GC processing and my lawyer submitted my application on April 2001 from NY state in EB2 RIR category . Till date my labour certification has not been cleared, what is the problem and when will it clear? Also Consular processing safe in todays time?

I wouldn\'t bother with Consular Processing. You can be issued an EAD card while waiting for the Adjustment to go through, so why waste money and time flying to India for the interview? Also, at least at teh CSC, about 95% of my employment based cases do not get called in for interviews for AOS, (unless foriegn food cook).
Even for RIR labor Certs, they sometimes take a while. 245(i) slowed things down considerably. However, I have in the past few months received a lot of my cases that were filed in april \'01. You may want to check with your attorney about the lag time.
