Dear Brit
Need your Help Please
I am among Dv 2020 selectees and had been listed for interview on 7th May 2020.However due to Covid19 the KCC sent an email of cancellation to let me know that the visa appointment was cancelled.
I wrote back to them to seek clarification on what actually cancellation meant. Kcc replied that thay are not sure of when they will resume visa appointment however i should make follow up with my country embassy.
However i wrote the email and the reply given is here below

We do not know when routine services will resume. We will make an announcement at that time. Also, please remember that the diversity visa is still suspended in Tanzania due to the Tanzanian government’s failure to share routine information Tanzania is one of just six countries in the world with this sort of restriction. So when services resume please do think through whether you wish to pay the fees necessary to be interviewed given that we can’t issue an approved diversity visa until the Tanzanian government makes improvements in this area. Thank you and best regards, US Embassy

My worries is, will this have an effect on Dv 2020 selectees?
If so what can be your advice!
Regards

You might want to tag @Britsimon if you are looking for a personal response, but generally the way this forum works is that someone posts a question and it’s open to everyone to answer.

Yes it will affect DV2020 selectees - that is exactly why they are suggesting you think about whether you want to risk the fees - because even if the embassies were open tomorrow and the immigrant ban did not affect you, the six country restriction is likely to defeat you anyway.

One last question.....
Do you think its possible for the KCC to make a reconsideration for us for the future Dv visa if the ban expires or get removed

If so can i write them a reconsideration letter or appeal? If any chances to do so

After September 30th your win for DV2020 will not provide any advantage, not for this year or in future lotteries. You can enter the lottery again and hope to be selected again - but that is all.
