mine was filed at VSC in march first week, and i got my by may first week. my wife\'s h1b was filed at same time (by same co., same attorney and same VSC), and she is yet to get it, and about 2 weeks left for 90 days... (working days).
there is no relationship really. all depends on which INS officer grabs your file. it could go to the smartest and quickest, or to the dumbest and slowest... all depends i guess.

May I ask you if your company paid for $500 fee
required by INS?
Actually, I renewed my H1 several months back and I thought
my company aleady did pay for it after talking to them.
Apparently, my lawyer paid for it then and is asking me to
pay them right now. I would like to verify if the said
fee of $500 is really required by law to be paid by
my employer....
Do you know anything about this? Your immediate response
is greatly appreciated.
