Sawasdee. I'm from Thailand, although I spent most of my life in the United States (but never with immigrant status). I won DV2006 and did AOS (my detailed experiences are posted on this forum, if you search under researcher20). Your number is really, really high for AOS and I think your chances of success are slim. Of course, if you have no other option, then you have to proceed with AOS and hope for the best. You should have all paper work, medical exams, forms ready so that you can send in the AOS package as soon as your number becomes current, probably August or September. Then you have to be vigilant to make sure that your case experiences no obstacles. In this case, an immigration lawyer may help. My attorney wrote letters explaining the need for a prompt interview and that seemed to help (but my number was AS5xxx, so a lot better than yours). If you can spend the money on a lawyer, you really should just do CP. If you insist on AOS, you really must steel yourself for stress, frustration, and disappointment, not to mention loss of the DV fee and the AOS fee (probably close to $2000, after you add up the fees, medical exams, x-rays, etc.).
Good luck to all.
