helping future spouse to get GC during AOS

hi, I would like to get advice regarding the legal issues that involve if i get marry before the approval of green card.
I reside in bay area california. I am in Adjustment of Status and
already got finger printed last month. fyi, I am referring to the case in which the spouse is a H1-B holder who already presents in united state. I heard one can sponsor his spouse during the adjustment of status. Can you please tell me what need to be done and the timeline to do that? Also, can you tell me what will be the different if one gets marry before or after he get his green card. How would that affect the time for the spouse to get her green card?

There is a huge difference between marrying before and after GC approval.

If you marry before approval, all that is necessary is to submit an I-485 and associated forms and supporting documents.

If you marry after approval, she is the spouse of a GC holder and will be waiting for around five years before she is eligible to file an I-485 based on the relationship.
