Dear Friends,

My question is related to premium processing for O visa but i did not find thead related to it. Therefore I am posting my question here since lot of people went through I 140 premium processing in this subforum.

My attorney submitted petition to Vermont service center for my status change from F1 OPT to O non immigrant alien of extraordinary ability (premium processing) by Fed Ex. Fed ex tracking shows that it was received by VSC on Thursday 20th sept. Since it was premium processing, I expected them to give receipt number in a day or two. However, my attorney have not received any receipt number till today.

How many days it takes to assign receipt number to premium processing petition?
What number or which office should I call? I called USCIS toll free number but it said calls with receipt number are answered?
Please guide me.
 
Give them some time Animalia. You should get the receipt notice in a couple of days and then a decision on your application in another 7-10 days. Good Luck.

actually i got surprise email from USCIS saying that my O visa petition has been approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now i wou;ld like to go for EB1 extraordinary ability
 
Well actually i underestimated my credential in earlier post.
my attorney claimed following four points. i liked the way my attorney prepared documents. Only solid points are claimed.

1. Authorship of scholarly articles in professional journals
I have three first author and three co-author papers. They were in journals with impact factor < 5. Citations > 50.
2. Judge of others work: I have reviewed papers for three journals. Two of them are top in the field. I got letter from editor stating why i was invited to review coz of my expertise etc....
3. Original contribution:
a. Patent on a very important discovery- All my experts emphasized importance of this patent in their letter
b. 5-6 papers which cited my articles actually discussed my work in separate paragraph with my name e.g. Animalia et al reported that.....etc. One paper actually reproduced one figure from one of my papers and clearly mentioned that it was reproduced from Animalia et al.
c. All my experts wrote clearly about importance of my papers, patent, and contribution to the field. I submitted only six letters but the substance inside was very solid. All of them mentioned that i am among the cream of field, i am one of the top in world etc...I was invited for a conference. I got letter from chair of coference which clearly mentioned that i was invited coz i am one of the top in the field throughout the world.
4. Critical role for distinguished organization
a. For institution where I finished my PhD- I got letter from vice president of university stating importance of my patent and how it is going to benefit the university and whole world in general.
b. For my current employer- I got letter from my director. I work for government and my role is very critical for prevention of a very very dangerous epidemic disease. My director elaborated importance of my work.

I would like to petition for EB1 EA. I will try to add more documents before
submitting petition.

Anybody has any tips on that????????????????????????????
 
for EB1A, you need more # of papers and citations. patent has less impact on EB1A. however, it is worthful to try in EB1A with a good petition letter. If you are lucky, it may fly. your attorney/other people may suggest more. good luck.
