Here is our current situation.
We immigrated to the USA in 1988, and have been living here for 17+ years and still are not citizens nor residents for that matter. I am currently a student trying to go to a california UC but it's hard to pay for such a school when you cannot get a legal job. We have gone to lawyers who have said they cannot do anything for us and I am worried now that I have reached the end of the line as UC acceptance has started. The green card lottery doesn't accept people from Mexico because it borders with California and obviously they're gonna come in. They said that I cannot apply because too many are already here. My family of 4 does not have the funds to pay for such a school and we cannot get any scholarships because they are "citizen only!" Any suggestions, and I aplogize if this was placed in the wrong section.
