My wife's online status was case resumed before now it is "On February 17, 2004, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued."

Approval?

Who is the primary applicant?

Mostly, it might NOT be an approval. It could be a 2nd FP notice or a RFE or NOTHING. Many unfortunate forum member like stuckintexas have experienced this recently.

On the other hand, you can always hope that it could be an approval. I had your same message when my 2nd EAD and AP were approved. (I haven't heard about this message in case of I-485 approval though)
 
I am the primary applicant... we both did our FP together on 30th Jan and case resumed for both of us on 6th Feb.

Today only my wife's status changed to "... approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued."
 
vjgp, the approval messgae is like:

"This case has been approved. On xxdate an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

Lets hope that this is an RFE.
 
So far the following are the outcome of message "Mailed directly........" from this forum

1. For I-485 - FP Notices
2. Address Change update
3. AP approvals in case of the application is for AP.
4. RFE issued in case of AP
 
I called 1.800 number to ask about it and the lady who attended my call said this message means approved and card is ordered. I hope in couple of days i will know what actually is mailed to me.
