Help with some H1B Questions (for a friend of mine)

I thought I would post these questions here, as this forum folks are great in helping others.

My friend posted the following thread in the H1B section of this site, but no one had responded yet.

I am currently in the US on a B1 visa.

My company has applied for a H1.

I have the following questions -

How long does it take to get H1 approved??

If I get my H1 visa before my B1 expires, do I need to go out of the country for stamping? Or, can I continue to work and get the stamping the next time I go to India.

If I need to bring my wife on H4, when can I do that? What are the procedures? Can she get H4 stamping, before I get H1 stamping??

You need to go back and get stamping done on your passport. You both can get stamp H1 AND H4 same time.
