Help with passport Stamping problem?

I got my I-485 approval notice(I noticed this disscussion a week ago). But I could not find a specific day when I can go to have my passport stamped. Can I just go without making an appointment?

Another question is that my son got his approval notice a week later. The difference from what I got is that his notice is a "welcome notice" without a word about passport stamping. Instead it said "we will soon mail you a new Permanent Resident Card". Is that meant that my son has no need to have his passport stamped?

I am in the same situation. How if my son has to travel. Please help.

I am in the same situation. My son also received welcome notice. We are planning to travel asap. Whether we need to go ahead with stamping or wait for the card. Please help.

Your son can Stamp his passport

actually he ( your son) will get his card directly , but if you guys plan to travel out of US along with your son then you can ask INS Local office to stamp his Passport they will do ...my neighbours has similar situation and they asked INS to stamp his passport it worked .
