Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can go about tramsferring my pending I-485 application from the Texas service center to the Nebraska service center. I applied for the employment based I-485 in TX, but have since moved to Indianapolis, Indiana last November. I notified the DHS in Louisville, KY of this, but apparently that has nothing to do with the actual transfer fo the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Have you notified TSC of your change of address? I have read here that USCIS will not generally move your application from one service center to another. I would imagine that you will get an interview scheduled at your local office when your AOS is about to be adjudicated. On the other hand, I have read that people have successfully moved their petitions after explaining the situation to USCIS. The clock might start again if you manage to get your petition moved, though. In any case, you will probably will have an interview.

You can definitely write to TSC, explain your situation and request a transfer. They will be more than happy to do that as it is one less application to work on. NSC may further transfer your file to the nearest local office for interview which is generally not a big deal but would delay your case. In my opinion, NSC is a more efficient system than TSC.
