Help with H-1B to permanent resident(green card)

I graduated with Masters of Science in Computer and Information Sciences in December 2007 , I'm currently employed by a local University with an IT position. The University sponsored my H-1B Visa which began Jan 2007. My parents immigrated to the US mid 2007 with the diversity visa program and have been working in the US for about 2 months now. My question is, what are my options if I want to adjust my status from a H-1B to a permanent resident(green card)? What steps can/should I take now to begin this process? Thank you for your advice.
