My RD is 10/02/01 and ND 11/26/01.
INS made an error on my gender on my EAD card by changing. When the card arrived in January, I tried to call the 802-527-4913 number to correct it but could never get through. My company, where I had worked for nearly four years, decided then to accept the card despite the error. This matter slipped out my focus after I tried different other ways to no avail. I was hoping I would never use the EAC card again since I stand a chance of 485 approval before the card expires at January 2, 2003. Recently I was asked to renew my I-9 form and I called INS again. This time I got through and I was told that at least 4-5 weeks are needed to have the error corrected.
Anyone knows whether this long correction process will have any negative impact on my I-485 process (which can start any time soon)?
I hope they would not hold on my I-485 simply because of another process is going on, however small it is.
Please share your experience and insight. Many thanks!
