I have done my studies on this issue, but I can't find a straight answer, so here is my case, please help me with your knowledge:

I marriage my husband, a US citizen on Oct 26, 2001.
I have done I-751 part and received my permanent resident card:

Card expires: 07/19/15
Resident Since: 09/30/02

Since 09/30/02
I was in China from 07/15/03 till 09/01/03 (1 month and half)
then in China from 09/17/05 till 01/10/06 (four months)

I have read that the time I was not in the US does not count into the three year period after my residency. I am bit confused at this point.

So my question is:
Am I eligible for N-400 naturalization?
What exactly is N-400 naturalization process?
Am I too late for it?
I can't remember if I did it already or not. I vividly remember filling out I-751 form, but N-400?
Can I apply for citizenship?

Also I am planning on going back to China for a month towards the end of the year, would that affect my case?

Please please help me. Thank you so much.

1. You are eligible for Naturalization based on 3 year residency (married with an US citizen)

2. N-400 aka Application for Naturalization.

3. You're never to late for that.

4. I don't think you ever apply for N-400 since now is the first time you inquiry about it. Yes you can apply for Citizenship, aka Naturalization and the form you'll use to apply is the N-400 you were asking about.

5. Going back to China for on month won't affect your case but make sure you have someone who checks your mail, you don't want to miss the Fingerprints, Interview or other important letters from CIS.
