My I140 is approved on jan\'25 2002 with CP option.My 6 years H1 period is ending on 15th April\'02.Can I go for consular processing interview in May or June ( leaving US on APril 15th) without having H1 validity till interview date? or shall I need to apply for 7th year H1 extension.
 
H-1 extension.

you must show valid status during CP. only possible way is H-1 ext if your cp during May. or you can apply i-485 with EAD which will be approve before april i hope.

my question is that does the ead have to be apporved before the h1 expires to stay in status? I hear ead can take 4 months and my h1 epxpires june. so even if i apply for ead it will only be apporved in jul
