Help - Waiting for AP for 73 days already

Hi guys,

My wife will go back to our country for vacation on Jan 1st.
We applied for AP on September 23 @ CSV, knowing that the processing time is 60 days. We are waiting for 73 already.

I would like to know if I can ask for an AP at the local office. Something similar to the Interim EAD we can ask if VSC pass the 90 days for EAD processing.

Thank you for any help.
 
There is no such thing as an Interim AP, there is only emergency AP which will only be given in the case of a true emergency and sometimes not even then.

There is no recourse to this wait, INS is apparently concentrating its resources to reducing the 485 backlog (though haven't seen too many approvals to confirm that one).

If you don't get an eAP after visiting the INS office, you might want to contact your local senator/Congressman for help. Sometimes a letter from the Congressman speeds up the process.

Just keep dreaming that I485 is getting cleared, I was in same situation, my AP is pending for more than 90 days, went to local Newark, NJ office this Monday got AP, although waited for 4 hours but it was worth it as I had ticket for this week, would have been completely screwed otherwise.

Clearly told officer that I am going on Vacation, NO EMERGENCY and she didn't care, all she asked was 485 notice, did not even pay fee as I showed them my receipt, got the IEAD also same day, that too pending for more than 90 days.
 
I have the same problem and called up the 1-800 number yesterday... Got the same info as stated in the case status website...

I am also planning to goto INS Newark and request them for AP.

Venky,

Did u go to Newark to get an interim AP.

If yes, can you post your experience.

What docs should we carry and how many copies of AP do they give.
Do we need to take fresh photos to the office?

Hmm .. is this another attempt by CIS to make us more misserable than we already are?
They know that this is a holiday (a.k.a TRAVELING) season; and now they are delaying the AP approvals?
