I-485 notice data Spet 11 2003
FP date Nov 18 2004
I-485 approved Dec 2nnd 2004

Got email notification on the 2dn (yesterday) stating that both cases are approved

- my wife and I are travelling to India early next week.
- We went to the local office to get I-551 stamped on PP based on the email printout

- The officer at the desk looked up my A# from EAD and said she has no info about my approval. She can do something if the system was updated (even without original approval)

Question

1. How soon can one expect the system to be updated
2. How soon before I get the approval notice from VSC
3. What is my official status now. All the info I have is the email notice from USCIS. I have a approved AP. Can I leave the country now and return back on the AP

thanks

I think you can. At the POE if the officer asks, tell him/her that you didn't get time to do the stamping. A valid AP will be enough to come back. Good luck

Hi msdms,
Congrats to your family!!!

Do you have any LUD's changes between FP received blah... message and 485 approved message?

thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies

On November 29, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.

This case has been approved. On December 2, 2004, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

i would consult the lawyer ASAP. If you can afford to change your trip plans and get the stamping done first, i would recommend that. I don't want to scare you or anything, but once the case is approved then AP's are no longer valid. Exceptions are when you are out of the country. However, in this case you haven't left the country and you still have an option.
I would also talk to the airline to check if you can get the seats changed for extra cost. It's better to get the stamping done and then leave. this process might even take you 2-3 weeks, as you have to get the stamping done/get info-pass appointment.

Nothing to worry

If you have the A/P dont woory, that's enough. At the time of entry they scan a/p only. If the come to know the Approval has come, they will inform you and also will take the passports for stamping and mail it to your home address (thats what happened to a friend of mine - he got the passport stamped by mail after a month of entry)

Thanks for all the advise

I got back into the country on an AP without any issue.
The officer told me that my GC/485 was approved and I need to get my passport stamped.

He did not take my passport for stamping, but asked me to take an appointment at the local office.

Thanks
