I am planning to file a greencard application myself. I would like to have an advise on DIY kits. I have read some threads and noticed that web-sites like

http://www.greencardapply.com/ and
http://usaia.org/ do not have good kits.

I have seen at least two people suggesting to buy kit at

greencardforyou.com
Unfortunately this link did not work for me.

does anyone know about

http://www.usavisanow.com/

Otherwise can you please post links with kits that has been used succesfully RECENTLY. Thanks a lot.

I am not sure whether we shd discuss this !
But i have seen both DIY kits.
in simple words you can follow them to start but they are not reflection of current requirements of any categories!!!

I am just trying to get a fair feedback on kits. Most of web-sites selling kits post only positive feedbacks: something like I am a Ph.D. student with no money and no publications. Purchased a kit got approved in 2 weeks. In addition I have read a lot of negative and positive feedbacks about the kits. The price of a kit is not very high, however, I am not willing to spend 60$ to get the same information I can get from the forum. I will most likely hire the lawyer anyway, but what I see lawyers can do great job making the case stronger, however all initial drafts must be written by myself. In addition, every lawyer will spend no more than fixed amount of time on my case. Therefore, if I do bad job preparing initial draft and references the lawyer will not be able to improve it a lot.

I do not want to buy a kit made 6 years ago, when requriements where not as tough. Therefore, I hope to get help from someone who saw several kits and can judge how good they are.

Hi, I used usaia.org kit, my NIW is approved in 7 months, no RFE. I have not seen other kits and was not around this or other immigration forums, so I can not compare. My friend also used the same kit and already got her GC, no RFE either, and another friend just started application. So, I am quite satisfied with this one.

As you said price is not very high, and I wouldn't expect a magic bullet from any of the kits on how to sell yourself best.

Best wishes,

my experience as of 2008

I got the chance to see greencardapply, usaia and omnisofts.

I would strongly recommend omnisofts.com for niw. I would not recommend usaia since it is totally not useful. greencardapply is ok but the content is too tedious and outdated. Omnisofts.com has only for niw diy. That one is easy to use and fit for the current application status.

www.omnisofts.com/niw.aspx

Wish everyone good luck.

One thing you need to know is "who are telling about the kits?"
If the user is posting for the first time about any kit, then take it with a spoon of salt.
I am lurking this forum for quite some time and I will not recommend any DIY kits.
May be some people are so lucky that their case was approved with just the DIY kit.
But when u read this forum there are many experts who did a lot of work themselves and they are much more knowledgeable than what the DIY kit can give you.
If u have money to spend you do what you feel like.

post your credentials and ask for opinion then decide.
