Help! Tn1 Receipt?

On July 17th I mailed in my application for a new TN1 (3rd TN1). I still haven't received a receipt. My visa expires Monday, September 4th! I'm going to call tomorrow, but I'm wondering if my Express Mail receipt signed for by 'P NOVAK' is sufficient to keep me in status while I figure out what happened to my application?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

did you send a personal check? if you did and the check has been cashed, you can see the EAC # on the back of the check.
 
I am not an expert on mail-in versus border application.......but......if you have to travel, can you not just apply at the border for TN upon return from your trip? You will need all your papers of course. Please make sure.....I have never done a mail-in, I have only ever done TNs at the border.

If Sean has a 240 day window of in-status as attorney Brian states, why not sit back and wait for receipt, or continue to pursue proof of receipt, and just not worry the status (use the 240 grace period).
 
I too submitter I-129/539 for TN/TD extensions in July. We never received the receipt notices. We were able to get the receipt numbers off the cashed checks. If 30 days has passed since the checks were cashed then your employer can call USCIS and request duplicates. We did so and received the duplicates within a week or two.
