Help: third country F-1 application in London

Hello,

I am a citizen of China and need to travel to London. Right now, I have F-1 visa and it will expire before my return date. Can I apply F-1 visa in the US Embassy in London? How long does it take?

Technically you can, but you should confirm that with the US consulate directly by emailing or calling them. If you have been out of status, then you must apply for a visa at your home country.

You will most likely be refused the F1 visa in London UNLESS you are a resident of UK. I don't think any third country national can apply for US visas at consulates other than their home country, only exception being Canada and Mexico.
