HELP! Sent my OCI Application to Chicago!!

I sent my OCI Application to Chicago in the 3rd week of August (before they stopped taking it!). I have not seen any acknowledgement on that yet!!!!

It looks like it has gone to the blackhole, and I cannot even track it. It has been 5 - 6 weeks since. I have not seen the application sent back to me or there has been no phone calls raising any objections to the content of my application or any documents missing.

Help me , what should I do? Is this normal?

I knew that it would be in a black hole for a little while, but this long. I did not expected it.

If they have refused your application they would have sent it back by now. Since it has been only 5-6 weeks I would give it some more time. I had send my PIO apps for my children t0 Houston without realizing the fee have gone up. I received a letter back from them in a week asking me to send the difference. Hopefully yours went through. Have you tried calling them. Also if you have sent cashier's checks they are trackable to see if they have been deposited. Good luck.

welcome to the club. You think 5 weeks is too much of wait. I sent my OCI application 5 months back. Still no acknowledgement. Chicago is taking around 6 months to process them.

Don't despair, Chicago is very slow. I finally received my acknowledgement after more than 5 months! My info below. Your acknowledgment will come.

To add a new wrinkle to this issue, I am moving out of state

While waiting for the OCI aknowledgement to come from Chicago Consulate, I will be moving to Connecticut. Other than the postal forwarding of the acknowledgement, I see no other way to deal with it.

I am hoping that unlike US immigration letters, this is forwardable to the new address.
