HELP! RFE for parents' birth certificate

Got an RFE for both my parents birth cert. They were both born in India and migrated to pakistan when they were very young. They don't have any birth certs. I sent two affidavits for each parent but apparently that isn't enough.
Question are:

1) What do I do? I did a search and it seems that I might need a non availability birth cert. Where do I get that? What if I can't get it?

2) Have filed everything to chicago lockbox in dec 2007 and parent's I94 says they have to leave by feb 08. I'm guessing since I've filed this it they shouldn't and can't leave.

Please help. You guys are awesome on this site.

Their legal stay is extended for the time their (timely filed) AOS is pending. If they were to leave without advance parole, they would be considered to have abandoned the AOS.
