My case has been transferred to the Philadelphia BCIS office on March 11. Which means that I have to apply for my AP at the Philadelphia office and not at the Vermont Service Center. Am I right? Is there anybody who has done this in the past? How is the application different from the one filed at VSC (other than the address of course)? I am guessing it is the same form that I have to submit and along with all other documents, I have to send a copy of the transfer notification letter too. If anybody can advise me on this issue then I shall greatly appreciate it. Anybody with first hand experience in this can greatly boost my morale at this point. Thank you all very much.

Help regarding filing AP application in local office.

Hi MGM,
Even i have my case pending in Philadelphia office. Mine was transfered on the 10th Jan'03. I have experience applying for EAD renewal in local office but not AP. I just applied for my EAD renewal last week. As u said i also took all the documents including my transfer letter(a receipt from the local philly INS, with their receipt number). But they took only the EAD form & their receipt, they didn't take my photo's also. When i asked how they'll approve my EAD without my Photographs, the lady said that she took all the necessary documents that she wanted.
So as per my knowledge u better take all the necessary documents to be on the safer side. Better get a Money order or if u have a personal check that's fine, but the personal check that u give shd have ur name & also ur current address printed on it, only then they will accept that check.
I didn't have my address printed on my check so i was sent out to get a money order.
Even i have to apply for my AP renewal if u can Private message me with ur experince after u file it that would me greatfull.

Thank you very much for your input. So you decided to physically go to the Philly office to submit your EAD application? Did you get your approved EAD yet? If not, would they mail it back to you or are you supposed to pick it up once you are notified about its approval? May be they will approve it and then inform you about it. Once you go their to pick it up, they will photograph you and prepare your card. Just a wild guess. I was wondering how they will prepare your EAD without your photo. Anyway, thanks again.
