Hi, gurus

Given the slowdown of the 485 process, I will have to renew my EAD card. My EAD card was initially issued by Vermount service center, but i am using it working in Chicago under NSC (my case was self-petitioned NIW). Of course, I changed my address in VSC.

I was wondering what special i have to do to renew my EAD ? Do I still renew it from VSC as usual or have to do it from NSC ?


Another question, does anybody know if I can apply for H-1 after I have used 485-based EAD ? Given the current uncertainties of INS, i would like to be over-safe.

Hi atatat,

I think you should apply for EAD renewal at VSC since you filed your I-485 there and since you are NIW, they probably will not transfer your case to NSC. This is my view ony and you may want to consult a lawyer about this.

To your second question, you can not apply H-1B after you used your EAD.
