Help Post 485 question

One of my friend wants to know if there's any problem if he changes job, without the consent of his employer (sponsor) , after gc approval. He wants to know if the employer (sponsor of gc) can do anything.

Ive read

in these boards that the company could ask the INS to revoke the GC. The GC is "supposed" to be a contract that the company will keep you forever and you are to be with the company forever. But if you pack your bags and leave as soon as you get ur gc, the ins could form a case that you never intended to work for them permanently. Again the above was what i read on this board and may not be legally valid. As for AC21 it may have been to allow people who get laid-off or have to change jobs for a good reason.

I would definitely suggest sticking for 6-12 months after GC especially if the employer isnot very nice.
