I am planning to join a new gp. I am on a H1b visa presently.
the new job is offfering to loan me the amt. for my tail coverage. They are saying that they will forgive the loan if i stay for 3 years. But they are saying that they will issue me 1099 for the forgiven amt. PLUS intereste each yr.
any thots on how i can avoid this. Because i am not really taking the money...they loan to me and i pay it to the insurance. My immigration attorney tells me that cannot issue a 1099 on H1b.
