Hello List,

I'm a green card holder working for a tech company here in US. I'm planning to go back home(india) and marry this december. I know the complications of marrying an person outside

of US when you are on green card holder. Well in my case, My future groom is also a software professional aswell. She is back in India and have 3+ years of software experience.

I'm working with a company here in US, who is willing to sponsor an H1 visa to my wife back home in India. My question here is, Hopefully after my spouse gets to US on an h1 visa. what are the processing steps for her to get an green card? Well i want to do a family based green card and was wondering, whats the wait time for this? Is family based the best and fast process to get an green card or there's something I do not know..

Please help me with this question.

Thanks in advance.

Your wife can get a green card in 2 ways- One is family based (you being the petitioner) which take 5-6 years at least, the other is thru her employer which takes 2-4 years depending on various factors. Employment based is the faster one based on the present situation (no backlogs for employment based cases).
