Hi

I filed my I-485 at NSC in November 2001.
It transferred to Chicago Local INS on 04/23/2003
The company who are sponsoring my immigration has filed Chapter-11(Bankruptacy) in 2003. Now they filed Liquidation in court.

I am working at Client in PA through some company B but finally working with sponsoring companyA. The sponsoring companyA is in ILLINOIS. But still my residence is in ILLINOIS and also paying IL tax.

Now Company B is willing to hire me. But they are in Pennysylvania. They would like to maintain same title and same job description as it was on labor.

If i make a change to company B and change my residence to PA do i have any problem?

Can you guys please advise me ?

Gurus, please advice how it works...

thanks

immiIL, you seem to be covered by AC21.

Once you change companies, do you plan on getting a new lawyer ? If company B is providing you with a lawyer, make sure you speak to him before the jump.

Thanks for your Advice.

I think i am covered with AC21. But they may transfer again from Chicago to PA USCIS which will delay another 2 or 3 months.

IL falls under the jurisdiction of NSC, and my guess is that PA falls under VSC.

Now, changing address would mean your case to be transferred to VSC first and then to local USCIS if VSC so desires.

I don't think this would hurt you in any sense apart from a slight delay in processing due to the transfer of files from one center to another.

But, my question is that do you really have a choice in this matter?

So I guess move on with the current, who knows moving to VSC might expedite the process, as NSC is moving on a snail pace. I had also filed for 485 at NSC in Nov'01 and so far there is no word about the approval even after RFE reply in July'03.

Anyway, I'm not a lawyer or a immigration specialist, these are just my thoughts. Consult a specialist for the better answers.

Thanks
