I am currently on L1B Visa and I am being approached by Companies willing to sponsor H1B visa this April 2006. Say the H1B gets approved by July 2006, what will happen to my L1B Visa. I am presuming my H1B will be my active status. But since I cannot work on a H1B till Oct 2006, what should I do between July 2006 ( assuming I get a H1B visa in July 2006 ) and Oct 2006 ? Should I stop working with my current employer who sponsored my L1B since it would no longer be valid after I get a H1B visa ? But if I stop working with my current employer, can I stay in the USA on H1B till Oct 2006 but without working ?
Please let me know if anyone has faced a similar situation and you are aware of how to tackle this situation.
