Help please with recent laid off

Caes info.

 Start h-1 last year. Filed 485 last year.RD of 485 is sept 1,2000. Got FP done,got EAD.

I have been told I will be laid off in April.
Question? Can I use my EAD to look for a new job? Do I need re file H-1 or redo 140? In How long I must find a job?

Thanks for your kindly inputs based on your knowledge or experience.

Actually you can use your EAD. Apply for a new Job and refile I140 (safer but you don\'t have to) with the new company. This way you won\'t lose your current I485 processing. Better, yet try refiling thru EB2 with the new job if you are not already.

I filed 485 EB2.
INS give people like me how much time to find a job after being laid off? I don\'t need to re apply h-1 ,right?
Any clue on how to count 180 days?
