Dear Reader:

I applied for N-400 though marrying a USA Citizen. I qualified and provided all evidence, 2 photos, w2, tax retunrs, joint asset, and fee of $400 was cashed by USCIS in California Service Center. I live in Fremont, CA (close by San Francisco,CA)

Today, I got a notice of Action and indicated that USCIS received my n-400 application WITH EXCEPTION.

Here is the text from my notice (I-797 Notice of Action)
The above application has been received by our office and is in process, but has been noted with one or more of the following exception(s):
Missing Evidence(s) - your application was missing evidence(s) that you will need to provide at the time of your naturalization interview. You will be notified under separate notice of the necessary evidence(s) that you will be required to bring to your interview. Do not submit any evidence(s) by mail.

4 Quesions:
Q1-Anybody got this kind of receipt with Expection?

Q2-For those who did get a "Receipt with Exception", Did you later got a separate notice of the necessary evidence(s) that

you will be required to bring to your interview?

Q3-What did the separate notice say to bring?

Q4-if you went through your N-400 through California Service Center and San Francisco, kindly list your dates since sent-in your N-400?

Thank you for your details rely in advnace and this means a lot to me.

Thanks
Ray

A)Yes all the things they ask .They will ask you to bring it during the time of interview. So relax and enjoy the waiting game.:D .Dont sweat it .It just might something they overlooked.

yes, they cashed $400 :)
Did you get a exception letter and later got a letter asked you to bring something that you had already provided?

Thanks
Ray

At every interview, you are required to bring some evidence - at the very least your GC and your passport. It seems about half the people get the "with exception" notice. Don't worry, they are just trying to psyche you out - It's part of their "confuse the customer" strategy. Relax, sit back, and check your mail every day.

Ray it is quite common to send Notice with exception. Don't worry. On this web forum there is a Sticky with all documents. Follow that.

I also got Notice with exception. I got my Interview Letter along with N-659 (Document List). But there was nothing new. The N-659 is pretty much the same as the document list mentioned in the Naturalization Guide.

Follow dckaraja's advice and the Sticky on this forum.

thank you, all
I have a FP appt next week, but i don't have the 10 yr GC, (USCIS mailed to my old address after i updated the address on my i-751 and AR-11 1 month prior to making the GC)
so i will show my i-551 stamp on passport and see if they will take it
