do you have to live together in order to file for a greencard? im asking this question because im happily married,im a usc but my wife is out of status we can't live together yet because were still saving up money for an apartment.anyway can we file for it now eventhough we don't live together or file it later when we have enough money for an apartment?

You could live separately and still file for your GC, but you need to have a very convincing reason for the officer during your interview as to why you and your spouse are living apart. If you are not convincing in your reasoning, it might be considered as immigration fraud and you might be viewed suspiciously and subjected to more questioning.
You can file while you are not living together but if she going to move after filing she has to advice the change of address with time. (Because all the information from USCIS you receive it by mail)
There are many factors that USCIS look when is about marriage.
Since she is out of status is not good for her to be in a kind of limbo, plus if she get the authorization to work she can help in the apartment right?

Geee I was asking me the same question after I posted hehehe, so I am with the same doubt now...

Cherr1980.The problem i can't move where my huisband lives becos i am on H-1 with a company..and My husband is doing his residency so there is no chance he can move..That is the reason I want start the GC process and file for EAD and move with my husband.Now I am really confused wwhether may be i should have a lawyer.
I think that you can put the sponsor's address but then it comes the part of truthfull statement (you have to sign it and is worst if you lie) because she is not really living in your place right now.
I guess I open my mouth too soon, but there is nothing under the law that contradicts it neither. But it make sense that if you are marry and applying is better to live together.
Probably others will answer about it, you know what, call the Customer Service and ask what address you should put. Call twice just to check out the answer, and write it down the name and number of the agent who answer you.
