Hi,
I applied for my Son's PIO with CGI Houston about 6 weeks ago. I haven't heard anything from them yet, and as you know I can't get to them by phone/email/fax etc.,

My wife and children are flying to India in 2 more weeks. Can anyone in this forum help me please, by donating couple of hours of their time by going to CGI Houston Facility to enquire about my Son's PIO??

PLEASE....I badly need this help. Please let me know if you can lend a helping hand.

Regards
Naveen

I have read that there is a service where you pay somebody to go to consulate for you to check. It was posted on this forum. If I find it, I will post here or you can also search more.

Another option is to apply for Indian visa (using fast service) Apply for the smallest term you can get. Then finish PIO later.

Good luck !!!

Contact user EB3_kp. Here is his post where he mentioned messanger service. I think 60$ is very cheap to get this cleared. Send him a private message.

I started my OCI process in August of last year, got approved a month ago after so much going back and forth with documents.

Now, sent my passports 3 weeks ago and have not heard anything back from them.

I hired a messenger service in Houston to go to the consulate and they were told by the consulate that people are flying in to get their passports stamped and they are given priority. They will get to the mailed in applications when they can. There was apparently a 45 min wait in line for the messenger and the lady refused to give any further info. Cost me $60. Waste of money.

I want my passports back. I'm now considering flying there to get this matter taken care of.

I'm never using the Houston consulate again in the future.

I am in the same position. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to fly to Houston to sort out this issue. I live in Atlanta, and have booked my tickets for Houston this week.

May be you can help namelater with his query too? ;-)

I went to the CGI office in Houston today. I believe they are processing PIO applications received around March 29th currently.

Were you able to get your PIO card processed (Since you were there already?) How was your experience?

This is May 7 and they are still in March !!! I hope they get enough funding and manpower to speed things up for PIO and OCI.

They were about to return my application (after 2 months) without processing it because they said some photocopy was missing which was not the case. I was asked to submit it at the counter which I did. They are supposed to send it back in 10 days. In any case, I got a visa just in case the PIO card is delayed.
