help please, affidavit of support

hi all,

please kindly advice.
one of my friends I contacted to fill affidavit of support for me got to US about one and half year ago. her wive won DV lottery about 7 years ago.
he is still expecting his green card, but has the A ( allien number, Dont know what that means)which he has been using.
please i will like to know if he can process the affidavit for me. the wife could not sign because she is presently not working but she thinks that the husband can sign since he alraedy has the allien number.
please advice.

you state that he is expecting his green card, does that mean that he has completed his adjustment of status already and had his passport stamped. Therefore is he only waiting for his actual green card. If that is the case then he is an apporved LPR (permenant resident), therefore he can file your affidavit of support application for you.

On the other hand if he is in the process of adusting his status ( he will be given an A# (which is a file number assign for that person) you can not use him to file for you since he has not been approved. FYI.. A#'s are assigned to individuals when they submit an application to USCIS, that is GC A# differs from other A#s
