Help- PCC from UAE

Friends,

I'm trying to Canadian Permanent residency.
I understood that I can get PCC from India from Indian Consulate New York.

I have lived 2.5 years in Dubai, UAE before moving to US.
Can any one share their experience / give more info on getting a PCC from UAE.
 
Any luck? I am also in the same boat as you. Did you ever got it? If yes what. I was told to send the Dept of State Approved finger print to the UAE Embassy and then through some personal contact person in UAE to get the PCC locally using the documents provided by the Embassy. Please let me know of any progress.
