Help on Temporary EAD

Hi, everyone.
Several guys on this board mentioned we can apply for a temporary EAD card if we have not receive the approve notice for the official EAD 3 months after filing. Is this true?
What kind of paper work I have to prepare for the temporary EAD card application?
How long it will take to get temporary EAD card?

take your ead receipt, i-485 receipt, passport, 2 photo's, $120 check, ead application. may be not all of these are needed but it doesn't hurt to carry them with you.

it used to be same day approval, i don't know the latest info.
just go try at your local ins office and let us know the latest ..

Do we have to pay again for I-EAD??
I thought we just have to take the receipts/passports and other documents. I am surprised to hear that you have pay $120 for I-EAD.

Can anyone confirm? Have you personally paid $120 for your I-EAD, just because you haven't recd. your EAD after 90 days of your application??

I did not pay again

I did not have to pay again when we got iEAD in San Jose March 2002 for spouse and self.
However, my lawyer wanted me to take a cashier's check or cash to e on the safeside and asked me to pay the amount only if asked.

1. Orignal I-765 ( EAD application) receipt.
2. Copy of I-485 receipt.
3. Completed form I-765 ( exact copy of the one submitted to csc).

How to calculate the 90 days for applying the I-EAD?? From the Received date OR Notice date of the EAD receipt??

I-140 approval

I did not take photos - INS photographed and fingerprinted me. I also carried I-140 and amended I-140 approval notices (I have 2 I-140 approvals because of corporate merger) along with EAD receipt. I went to local INS based on 90 days from RD.

luckstar,
You can apply for a SSN as soon as you receive your EAD card. Show it at the SS office and they will issue you a SSN.
