After 6 months when my I-485 was filed, I was laid off from my previous company. Then I found a new job from another company and now I\'ve already got my real plastic card(Green Card). But today I just got my lawyer\'s phone call. They said that generally they will collect lawyer fee (about$800)from my employer after my approval notice was arrived. They said that they tried to call my previous employer, but my previous employer refused to pay them because they said I am not their employee right now. So my lawyer called me and ask me to pay this lawyer fee. But I said to them that I have no agreement with them to pay this amount of money, this should be my previous employer\'s responsobility. I can only pay part of the money (my EAD card extension fee($about$200). I filed the EAD extension before my Green Card approval.)
My question is, should I really have to pay this lawyer fee($800) or it should be paid by previous employer?
