help on AP and passport expiration

I need to use AP to enter US next month, but my passport will be expired in 6 month by the time I get back to US. Does the immigration require the passport be valid for more than 6 months if we use AP to enter? Thanks for your information.

You need valid passport for more than 6 months for travelling (to get back in US or any other country) whether you are using AP or not.
