Interview 09/16/04 Citizenship granted!

No Oath since. Officer in DO was telling us in November that they are still waiting for a-file. Told us in Dec. File is on route to orlando. Today officer in DO told us that they can't proceed with scheduling because the officer is on maternity leave. He refused to let us talk to a supervisor. He refused to tell us when the officer is coming back. He refused to let us know if the file finally arrived. Can I go to Immigration Court with this? I am running out of time. We have to apply for our son's Greencard. His Student Visa is only valid to April '05. After that time he has to leave the country. I am a nervous wreck! Please advise...

Oath

What is meant by "Citizenship Granted!" ?

A person is not a Citizen till oath is taken.

Good Luck with Your Case.

Student visa

Fanta,

Your son doesn't have to leave the country just because his F-1 expired - only if he is no longer a student. The "visa" is just to cross the boarder - at least for students. You can even leave to Canada and return with an expired F-1! I don't know anybody who tried this, only read about it. If the student has his I-20 up to date and is in good status with his school, it should be OK.
