Help!!!! NOA on Oct. 25 but still no word for FP, can I get AP before Christmas

NC, I guess the DO would be Charlotte
10/19/06 (day 1) Sent to Chicago I-130, 485, 131, 795, 694
10/20/06 (day 2) RD
10/25/06 (day 7) ND
10/27/06 (day 9) Checks cashed
10/28/06 (day 10) we received ND
11/07/06 the dates were updated but no status change.

it seems we're much slower than many folks here. Can I still get AP on time around Christmas or I need to make back-up plans for our trip? The hotel is expensive and will charge us 3 nights penality if we don't inform of them 45 days before our reservation date.

Given that APs are taking on average 80 days right now, and you got your NOA 2 months before X-mas day, I would say your chances of getting your AP before you wish to travel are small.

Out of interest, why do you think things are going much more slowly for you than anyone else? Your timeline looks pretty ordinary to me.

Slower? Look at my timeline - ND is Sept. 21, no FP notice whatsoever.

I wouldn't count on getting an AP before Xmas though... :(
 
Is FingerPrint needed prior to receiving the AP? Does the processing time of AP depends on any other application status? (485,765,etc)

My wife filed her I-131 on 7/22/2006 and we are still waiting. The immigration messed up our address twice so our FP and RFE for I-485 were delayed close to two months. We were wondering if this mixup could of lagged our AP processing time.

Good luck to you all. We may have to cancel our wedding ceremony due to this. We thought 4 months would be plenty of time for us to receive the AP. =(

I would say that these issues are definitely the reason why your AP has been delayed.

Darn. So from your experience, approximately when do you think we can receive the AP? We are trying to decide whether to reschedule or cancel the ceremoney on 12/30/06. Thank you for your time.
