Help: NIW just got layoff

Dear Everyone:

I applied NIW last year and get I140 approval in 11/2001. my Fringprint was done in 02/2002. Now I am waiting for I485 approval.

But unfortunately, I got layoff today. I am very anxious since I don't know if I will get RFE.

I apply GC based on NIW, which means no support needed. However, I don't know if my unimployment will affect my application.

Anyone with experience can explain?

Dont Worry

Your getting laid-off has no bearing on your job application as you claim to be NIW i.e. your employer did not sponosr your 1-140 effort, you did it on your own merits.

Although, this is not legal advice I am quite certain about this so dont worry.

BUT it seems sometimes they ask you to submit your payroll as RFE.

That's too bad!

By the way, do I need to inform my lawyer?

As I know although normaly NIW no need for employer sponsor, you should be careful if you let your employer wrote the supporting letter for your NIW. Otherwise you don't have to worry about anything. And I think talk to your lawyer and ask hin/her what to do next is always a good thing. Good Luck.
 
Thanks, GodblessGC02. I applied when I was in school and all letter were wrotten by my teachers and advisors.
Some one said if I told my lawyer, he would have to inform the INS. Is that true?
