Hi,
  As my Attorney was charging too much for filing EAD, I want to apply myself in Phildelphia INS Office. How long I need to wait after getting the receipt notice for I-485? dO I need to file with I-485 or can I file separately? Some one please help....

You can file for EAD as soon as you get your 485 receipt. I got EAD for my wife in the philly office. Get there early in the morning with the EAD form, signature card, 485 receipt and the check. You should get the EAD on the same day.

Mine was the same case...i applied myself....got in 1 month from VSC...\'cos my local office refused

I filed them separately. Got EAD in 45 days.

You can do it yourself. You will get it very soon.
These lwayers charge a lot and do much less.
