Help needed.

I Have Patience

Hi,

Applied 140/485 concurently. Got RD thru employer - who got it from lawyer.

Someone told me that you need reciept notice for 140/485/AP/EAD in order to get interim EAD and AP.

Now the question is:

1. Can I use a copy/fax of same or do I need it in original? (reciept notice).

2. Does reciept notice carries the notice date too? Or is that entirely separate document?

I haven't got any notice from VSC either. How long does it takes to send such a notice? Will I get it for all - 140/485/AP/EAD or for selective items?

I am getting confused. Can someone help me please?

Copy should be fine.

The receipt notice contains the notice date.

There will be separate notices for each applications. The notices for I140 are sent to the employer and receipt for I485, I131 and I1765 are sent to the applicant. It takes about a couple of weeks, after that you can call the CIS.

For interim EAD you will also need proof of identity (DL, passport), proof of address.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot I140_2003, your reply is indeed helpful.

Two more questions:

1. My lawyer has got the reciept notices for all the cases - I did not get any. Is that normal? Do lawyers get notice before us?

2. Do I need 140 reciept note for EAD/AP?

yes

You need copy of 485 and 140 receipt. Also carry passport just in case. Lawers should send you copy of all the receipt if not u can try with print out of online case status page and tell them that your lawyer has receipt they should be ok. As long as u caan prove that u r the candidate by showing some form of id and the correct case number it should be fine.
