Help needed on CP Chennai Administrative Processing

This message is for my friend who needs help.....

My friend has attended CP interview at Chennai, where the consular officer has taken all his original certificates, 3 year pay stubs and all the CP documentation and given him a note that "They need some more time for Administrative Processing" along with Passports - not sure what this means and never heard about this regarding CP.

He should return shortly to start on his next project, since the Consular officer denied to give an expected date for outcome on his case, he is really concerned that amidst all this he might loose his next assignment (not to mention the status of GC as well).

Can anybody shed some light on:
1) What does Administative Processing mean?
2) How long does it take for the Consulate to get back in this case?
3) My friend is a Hindu and never been in any other county where terrorism is an issue.

I appreciate your comments/ suggestion on this situation.

Marshal,

The word administrative review is used to describe several situations. While I am not an expert in these matters your friend's case has the same feel as another case we have read about in the forums.

There was a candidate with the user ID 'Jayanagar1' whose case
was also held up for no fault of his.

One possible scenario is during the backgound check there could be a hit with his name.

As we read in the forum 'Jayanagar1' had to go through lot of
heart burn , but finally with great difficulty he got out with his GC.

Research the forum to find the posts.

Some thoughts

Hi,

As Raju mentioned, Search this website to get the postings of "Jayanagar1". Go thru all those postings step by step so that you will get an idea how his case resolved finally.

Send a personal mail to him ( in case if he is not browsing this forum regularly). asking him to get some suggestions/inputs. They may be useful to speed up your friend's case.

I am sure "Jayanagar1" will reply to you( FYI .. two days back I got a reply from him, when I sent a mail regarding his case).

Regds,

Thanks Raju and Kumar. I really appreciate you taking the time and responding to the query. Will contact Jayanagar1 and I hope my friend's case will be resolved in a timely fashion.

Any update?

Hi Marshal,

Any update about your friend's case?? Did the consular officer informed anything further?

Regds,
Sam.

Kumar - thanks for enquiring regarding my friend.

Unfortunately, no response so far from the consular office. I am wondering what documentation is required to approach the Senator to request help on this case. Please help - if anyone knows.

I sent a private mail to JAYANAGAR1... no reply so far. Would like to know how longer would this normally take before they hear from the consular officer.
