Hi,
I got a green card through the DV program. I came 1st in
Aug./12 to activate the card and then back in Jan. to pick up the
actual plastic card. both times I stayed +/-1 week (doing an MBA
abroad).
I am planning to come back before the 6 months since my last
departure thinking to be safe, but talking to a friends he said
they might take the card away from me.
Is this really the case? if they give me a hard time would it be
smart to show them some or all of the following:
- I was ready to leave the MBA & come contigent on finding a
job, I did not get the luck but I have the emails to prove it
-I've been in the US for 6 yrs. with an H1-B and then left (since I
was not able to get a green card). Stayed 3 yrs. out of the US.
still have the passport to prove it.
-I have bank accounts in the US
- i can prove I was doing an MBA abroad (student card,
scholarship award letter, etc)
or just call my lawyer and put them in touch?
if they ask me to surrender the card, do I have any options there,
call the lawyer, ask for...?
if nothing works, and they take the card away what happens?
