help needed for traveling with AP

Because of family emergency, we have to apply for AP in Boston tomorow(can not wait for I-485 approval because our RD is Octomber), and back to homecountry ASAP. Do we need all kinds of document with us when we out of states?( including work permit, paystub and employment letter) or only AP and passport enough? Do we need return our old I-94 cards? Thanks in advance for your great help.

Last month I visited my homecountry using AP. I carried Paystub and business cards with and I was asked to show business card in Amsterdum. You need to give your I94 and will get a new when entering US. You will be taken to their INS office at port of entry.
